Wilson listed as doubtful, Clem Johnson probable

Thursday’s injury report for South Florida game:

DOUBTFUL: Russell Wilson, QB

OUT: Alan-Michael Cash, DT - Knee surgery; Curtis Crouch, OG - Foot
injury; Anthony Hill, TE - Pectoralis strain; Nate Irving, LB - Ankle
injury; Geron James, WR - Ankle injury;

OUT FOR THE SEASON: Toney Baker, HB - Knee surgery; Donald Bowens, WR -
Lower back stress fractures; Matt Kushner, TE - Knee injury; Javon
Walker, S - Knee surgery

Interesting to see Johnson listed as probable. The JUCO transfer safety suffered a broken jaw in a preseason scrimmage. Coach Tom O’Brien had talked as though he would have been the starter in the season-opener. He’ll be one to keep an eye on Saturday in a very young secondary.

Wilson listed as doubtful can be taken two ways. Either his injury isn’t that bad — he’s been seen around campus both with sling and without sling throughout the week. Or O’Brien just sticks him as doubtful to avoid saying where he’s injured. Doesn’t seem to be much point in being that allusive — but then again, this is Tom O’Brien.
