Similar schools face off
By on November 27th, 2007
It’s time to decide which is the superior state. Since the day I was born, I’ve represented Sparty to the fullest. Both my parents are graduates of Michigan State University, and in my parents’ house, Spartan basketball games take precedence over everything.
So, naturally, my parents were upset when I decided to attend N.C. State, but then again, it was better than Michigan or Ohio State.
But now, as I return to East Lansing for the first time since being away in North Carolina, I’ve realized that the two schools are eerily similar. Both schools have similar curriculums. Both schools have bell towers. And both are known as the “State University” in their respective regions.
So as the match-up takes center stage tomorrow night, the battle will transcend the basketball court. The victors will have truly earned the right, at least for one night, to be known as THE “State University.”
